We have $8,640 as of right now in the pot (24 players)

I would like everyone to give their opinion on the payout breakdown , once we get a good idea on the best option we will decide on which is best as a group.

My suggestion; pay top 5.

1st 4000
2nd 2000
3rd 1300
4th 1000
5th 340

If you have a suggestion or agree with anyone else's suggstion , please say so.

Thanks and good luck.

My initial thought is pay 4 and add more to the top prize. No need to pay 5 when only 25 are in. IMO

Heh, yeah, SS, I'd be happy to throw in some suggestions. Tho, I'd prefer to know the final tally of participants.

Also, just for historical reference, if I saw somewhere correctly, last year it was top 3 for season prizes based on how many people (as well as monthly prizes)?

I do agree with wannabe whale that since this is for SEASON prizes, maybe just top 4 heavy. Anyone can win the monthly prizes in the meantime even if they don't stay in top 5 for whole season.

I'll crunch the numbers but J-Man has a nice template... good start, maybe that's the best answer after all.

Last year it was top 5, how I know this, I finished 5th. Really pay the top 5, its only 340 for 5th even if you spread that out to the top 4 it really isn't making much of a difference between 4100 or 4000 as an example.

Thanks for the info!

I checked the final standings thread from last October (link) that someone threw in the other thread. I see that you placed 5th, and you got paid? Okay, interesting.

I counted 23 players in that 1st post (in October 2006). In that case, I would have to agree to top 5 since we already have at least 24 confirmed players for this year with two or three pending...

...also I follow what you mean about spreading out $340 into top 3/4 wouldn't make a major impact & I will take that into consideration when I quickly put something together in Excel now.

For this quick post, I'm posting in spreadsheet view what Journeyman has suggested in his initial post:

<table style="border-collapse: collapse; width: 156pt;" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="207"><col style="width: 52pt;" width="69"> <col style="width: 56pt;" width="74"> <col style="width: 48pt;" width="64"> <tbody><tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt; width: 52pt;" height="20" width="69">players</td> <td class="xl65" style="width: 56pt;" width="74">24</td> <td style="width: 48pt;" width="64">

I like it when first gets double of 2nd, and then 2nd gets double of third and so on.....

here is one idea based on 25 entrants:

4500
2250
1125
525
300

LAST = 300

OR

4500
2250
1125
525
400
200

The options below are based on 24 current confirmed players... I already have set my spreadsheet to change for more players by midnight if the case.

Option 1A - Journeyman's post
Option 2A - allowing 4th & 5th place finishers to get somewhat more moola (as dmmd98 suggested with my plugged in numbers as a guess)
Option 3A - just top 4 finishers
Option 4A - HPark1's suggestion

Based on those options alone as is, I like Option 2A myself.

BTW, reason I put "A" is because we can always suggest to edit a specific option better for the majority's preferences, i.e. changing option 1A to 1B with different numbers plugged in.

Here goes:

<table style="border-collapse: collapse; width: 684pt;" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="906"><col style="width: 52pt;" width="69"> <col style="width: 56pt;" width="74"> <col style="width: 48pt;" width="64"> <col style="width: 20pt;" width="26"> <col style="width: 52pt;" width="69"> <col style="width: 56pt;" width="74"> <col style="width: 48pt;" width="64"> <col style="width: 20pt;" width="26"> <col style="width: 52pt;" width="69"> <col style="width: 56pt;" width="74"> <col style="width: 48pt;" width="64"> <col style="width: 20pt;" width="26"> <col style="width: 52pt;" width="69"> <col style="width: 56pt;" width="74"> <col style="width: 48pt;" width="64"> <tbody><tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="height: 15pt; width: 52pt;" height="20" width="69">Option 1A</td> <td style="width: 56pt;" width="74">

That works as well, still pay the top 5, it does make much of a difference between 4 or 5. If anything I could understand HPark opinion however im afriad with 25 guys if there out of it in the final months of the season with little chance of getting a top 3 spot they end up not playing which happen to some people last year even with top 5.

As well not to be a pain but the min total should be dropped a tad as well to around 175-180 plays. I believe the 200 total was the same number as last year and with one less month and one less day a week to make bets it handcuffs people who dont wanna bet 3 games a day. (if it wasn't 200 then forget this last point)
